Meet Your Instructor
Carolyn Choe
Carolyn Choe is the Founder, Artistic Director, and Managing Director of Out of Box Theatre and the creator of The Creator's Den.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from the University of Southern California and a Master's degree in Public Relations from Georgia State University. Over the past 30 years, Carolyn has worked as an actor, director, producer, and theatre leader, including more than two decades running both community and professional theatre companies.
Her directing credits include Company, Doubt, Trash Day, Evelyn in Purgatory, Art, Glengarry Glen Ross, The Santaland Diaries, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and 'Night, Mother, among many others.
As the Artistic Director of Out of Box Theatre, Carolyn has cast, directed, and worked with hundreds of actors. She understands firsthand what directors look for when performers walk into an audition room and what separates a good audition from a memorable one.
As an actor, Carolyn has appeared as Polly in Other Desert Cities, Mrs. Pascal in House of Yes, Louise in Always... Patsy Cline, Annie Wilkes in Misery, and Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
